Cleveland Golf is introducing a new model of iron with a level of forgiveness, it claims, never previously seen in a blade. The latest Cleveland CG1 Tour irons are also designed for consistent ball-striking and improved distance control.CG1 Irons have a split cavity-back in the long irons and muscle-back in the mid/short irons, thereby maintaining a traditional look while providing the extra forgiveness, workability and feel that a bladed club offers the elite player.  

Inspired by the PGA Tour, the new Cleveland CG1 Gold irons are Cleveland Golf’s new flagship blades. Currently played by Vijay Singh, these elegant irons feature a new technology called Micro-Mill. Using this process of computer milling both face and grooves, Cleveland Golf has created an iron that is tuned for optimal trajectory and distance control. When robot tested, shot dispersion was reduced by an astounding 50%, making it an extremely popular iron choice among good golfers everywhere.

CG1 Black Pearl irons also feature a multi-layer, micro-coating that drastically reduces blinding glare while allowing the club to maintain its soft feel, bend ability and resistance to rust.

The classic shape of the CG1 Black Pearl irons features a longer blade length, straighter top line and a more squared toe. With an optimized center of gravity, they also allow greater trajectory control for skilled players.

The new CG1 irons take traditional blades to a new level of feel and performance. Made from CMM metal, they offer players a softer and more responsive feel. The ‘envelope-stretching’ milled Tour Zip Grooves on the CG1 Tour irons feature. Laser-milled surface roughness technology to make the most of clubface friction on the ball. The makers reveal that the precision accuracy of a laser, mills texture lines between each groove to maximize spin within the new Rules of Golf affecting pros on Tour. Designed with the better player in mind, CG1 irons have a slightly larger muscle in order to move the center of gravity lower and deeper within the club head to promote a higher ball flight, especially in the long irons. These muscle back irons come in a mirror chrome finish and they are offered with True Temper Dynamic Golf taper tip shafts.
