Improving Your Golf Swing

It can certainly be argued that there are many elements to achieving the perfect golf swing; however, the correct positioning of yourself to the ball is without doubt a very important and significant part of the whole procedure. It is one that is often hurried or overlooked, but by breaking it down into four very simple parts this exercise will prove to be very simple to follow and achieve improved results.
The first part is to ensure correct hand positioning. Using only the left hand, place the club behind the ball, slanting the handle of the club ever so slightly in the direction of the shot to be played. By adapting this angle it will allow you to keep the club in the desired position, and it will also bring the club into and through the ball.
Following on from the hand position brings us to the correct positioning of the feet. The same foot position should be assumed no matter which club is being used. Ideally the correct position to stand in, is so the ball will be opposite the left heel, and at right angles to the line of the shot. Players will also find that by adopting a narrower foot stance, will allow for an easier transfer of weight when hitting through the ball.
The right hand grip can now come into play, and should be placed directly opposite to the left hand in a position underneath the club. On starting out in the game many potential players hold the club with hands overlapping at the top of the handle, this will only serve as a one handed grip and should be instantly corrected. Always try to concentrate on having a relaxed grip, there should be no stiffness or tension at all.
Bringing the right heel into play is the final element. Try to make a conscious effort to turn the right heel out slightly. The main reason behind this is that it makes for a much stronger position for the backswing, and therefore making weight transfer easier.
